Pete Williams retires after nearly 30 years of service.

The legendary journalist's career in news for nearly 30 years with NBC was honored on Friday, as he headed towards retirement.

Friends and colleagues from the Justice Correspondent of NBC News Pete Williams shared their sentiments.

He was still giving scoops all the way to the final.

Williams covers his coverage of the Supreme Court, the Justice Department and some of the most important stories across the country.

"I'm extremely proud to be a part of his group," Williams said.

"I grew up watching David Brinkley and Chet Huntley back when I was growing up in Wyoming." He added.

"Nobody could explain it better, earlier, or faster," Chuck Todd, the host of NBC's said.
